I wonder if our lines might be connected. My great-great grandfather was John P. McDaniel (b. 1837- Tennessee). He married Arispa Stanley (b. 1845 - Missouri). John P. McDaniel's father was born in Tennessee, his mother was born in South Carolina. As of this date, I don't have their names. According to family stories, somebody married a Cherokee woman, but we haven't traced that yet either. Also, the name McDaniel was changed from MacDonald before the person or family moved to the colonies. I don't even know yet when the emigration took place. I am anxious to obtain any information on this part of my family line. Thank you for any help.

Interesting, I'm looking for relatives from Cherokee County, NC. My Great Grandfather was Clyde Columbus McDaniel born approx. 1867, and married Mae Elliot of Cleveland County, NC. I'd like to find out if Clyde had siblings, parents, etc.... Any help appreciated. Mae was Cherokee Indian.

My name is Nancy Whitney and I now live in Oregon. I was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Floyd Clark and Bessie McDaniel Clark. My grandfather was James E. McDaniel, born 2/5/1893 in Penn, Ohio. My grandmother was Della ???McDaniel. I remember my mother speaking about her grandmother (Della's mother) as a tiny woman named Sadie Casia/Kasia who supposedly was French and smoked a corncob pipe.
My great-grandfather was Ezra McDaniel born November 1866 in Penn, Ohio. My great-grandmother was Eliza Forsyth McDaniel born 2/3/1869 in Clark, Ohio (Madison County). I am just beginning my search so will appreciate all pointers.

Hi, I am researching McDaniel/MacDonald in Virginia, Dumfries, Stafford, Prince William areas. I am as far back as James McDaniel & wife Martha Withers, early 1700's. Does anyone have add'l info on James? His father, mother? James is my 5x grandfather. Before that, 4x William, 3x Alfred, 2xReuben, 1x Samuel, papaw, Jesse, and my dad, Ron, RIP. Any info, please reply to irish468@aol.com. Thanks!

My family is descended from the McDonald/McDaniel line. My G-G-grandfather was Thomas McDaniel, he fought in the Battle of New Orleans in 1814. My G-grandfather was William McDaniel, who married Sarah Blades a Cherokee women from Green County, TN, in 1836, in Republic , Mo. I have more data on my Jerry McDaniel site @ Heritage.com. I have found quite a few other related families, many related to the Blades family. Sarsh hd 16 siblings. I would like to hear from anyone interested.

The Family name was changed to McDaniel about 1800. I think it was Edward McDonald/McDaniel the changed it. Again, see my Thomas McDaniel website on "My Heritge.com", Or Jerry McDaniel website. I have connected with about 94 other families that are related, but not named McDa niel
